The school director reported that he had been notified by the auditor of
Marion County that the following sums were
in his hands subject to the order of the sch
trustees viz
Delinquent tax of 1858 applicable to
repairs of buildings and general pur
poses enclusive of tuition $1025.88
School funds for tuition 5557.46 $4531.58

Thereupon on motion an order was drawn
on the county auditor in favor of James
M Jamieson city treasurer for one thous
and and twenty five 88/100 dollars (1025.88)
the first of the sums above named

The secretary on motion was directed
to prepare a memorial to be signed by the
trustees and presented to the common
council at their meeting on the evening
of the 26th inst requesting them to order a
levy of in accordance with the provisions
of law of six cents on the hundred doll
ars of taxables in the Corporation of In
dianapolis and cause the same to be ad
ded to the duplicate to defray the expense
of keeping buildings in repair and for other
school purposes except tuition (see copy of mem
orial appended hereto
