The board of trustees met this afternoon
at 3 oclock pm
Present Messrs L M Vance Caleb B
Smith and Cyrus C Hines
Mr Smith moved that L M Vance act
as president of the board of school trustees
Which motion was adopted
The proceedings of the board at a meeting
held on the 20th day of August 1860 were read and approved

C C Hines presented the following bill which
was read and allowed and the clerk ordered to issue an
order on the contingent fund for the amount

Trustees of common schools
To M L Coyner [D?]
To 335 cubic yards excavation on Huron Street
opposite the 7th ward school property at 15cts $50.25

C C Hines presented the following resolution
which was adopted

Resolved
That the public schools of the city be opened
on the 26th day of November 1860 and that applications for
situations as teachers be received by the trustees up to the
1st day of November 1860
Applications can be made in person or by
letter to the trustees L M Vance Caleb B Smith and
C C Hines or either of them
No action will be had upon applications
until November 1st 1860 And the clerk is directed to give
notice in the Daily Journal and Sentinel for ten days in
regard to the above
On motion the board adjourned to meet on
next Wednesday
