Friday evening May 31st 1861

The meeting appointed by adjournment for this
evening was not held in consequence of notice
being given to the trustees individually that
certain information relative to the school fund to
be obtained from the city treasurer could
not be furnished in time for the meeting
It is therefore understood that the
board shall meet on the call of the treas
urer

treasurer and on the call of the treas

After consultatation and
examination of the finances so far as prac
ticable it was on motion
Resolved That this board memorialize
the boatd of county commissioners and re
quest them to levy a ban of six cents on
each hundred dollars of taxable property
in the corporate limits of the city of Indian
apolis for the purpose of meeting debts now
coming due on property purchased for use of
city schools and for making and keeping up
repairs on houses and lots and for providing
furniture school apparatus fuel and
