"To draw the thing, as he sees it,
"For the God of Things as they are."

Alas! how difficult a thing it is to
understand, much less to preach, any
Gospel. This is my self-humiliating
thought on thinking over the words I
have been privileged to speak on this
Commencement day to the graduating
class of the Girls Classical School. I
might have said, ought to have said,
so much - but I could not draw the
thing as I saw it - and never shall.
Perhaps I may have another chance?

H. Morse Stephens.
