Title: Letter from Albert J. Beveridge to May Wright Sewall.
Description: Senator Beveridge acknowledges Sewall's congratulations on his election. Her letter seems to have included some suggestions for him in his new role. He promises to consider them and will call upon her soon to "talk over many subjects more thoroughly than by correspondence." Albert Beveridge was U.S. Senator from Indiana 1899-1911. One of the original Progressive Republicans, he was fiercely independent and supported Roosevelt's "Bull Moose" Party. Beveridge was also a distinguished historical writer, best known for his four volume biography of Chief Justice John Marshall.
