Agreeable to your instruc-
tions of Apr. 29, I at once proceded to
organize to secure as good a peace meeting
as I could in the time allotted, and have
secured Friend's Church on Fst. Street
18 & 19. N.W. have secured a good list of
speakers, have had the meeting announ-
ced in the churches and have announ-
ced it myself at the Friday meeting of
the Press Club, where I read your letter,
at the Suffrage Club on Thursday,
and at the meeting of the Secular
League yesterday, where I made a
preliminary talk, and was preparing
to get in newspaper notices, and to send
out cards for special invitations, when
a flaming announcement appears in
our Washington papers stating that
