Dear Mrs. Sewall-

It was odd: I had a recollection, very vague, of something completing the punch bowl, and yet the bowl was complete - I had a subconscious wonder if a curious ox who calls himself my "butler" had not broken the same thing before he showed it to me. (That he did not remain still unexplained.)

I am so very grateful for your kindness in sending me the mirror. I wasn't a hinting in my not to Mrs. Blackledge! Though apprerances are against me.
