aware have but few rights guaranteed to them
by law that their husbands are in any
every bound to respect—and to expect a
govenment to so far depart from its traditional
faith and teachings as to send women
as delegates to a congress, the object of which
is the recognition of her rights [man?] equal-
ity of her rights before the law at least
with man is more than I have any hope
of securing but I will present your com-
munication and ask the delegates to be
appointed.
