PENFELD, MRS. E. JEAN NELSON APR 5, 1918

April 5, 1918

My dear Mrs. Sewall:

When you last spoke at Sorosis and so inspired us all, you tole me after the program that you would be glad to be one of the vouchers for Mrs. A.C. Fisk whom I have wanted to see in Sorosis for so long. I hope you will be free to so ast as a voucher new that I am free to place the name before the Board? I may not introduce Mrs. Fisk myself, as I am most desirous to have her cousin, Mr. John Connable go in at the same time, and, as Mrs. Connable is not so well known as Mrs. Fisk, I may have to allow my name to go on her papers rather than on Mrs. Fisk's but I shall, in any case, speak for Mrs. Fisk. If you will let me know if you are free to vouch for Mrs. Fisk,

I will send you word where your letter of endorsement will be needed.

Mrs. Fisk spoke at our meeting the other day and was all hearts, so she will go in with a very happy reception. After the meeting, our treasurer wrote to say that she had heard that I wanted Mrs. Fisk as a member, and, from her speech, she thought she would be just what Sorosis needed and hoped she would be placed in nomination.

Trusting you are being filled [?] each day with strength for the great tasks always at hand for women like yourself, believe me, with most cordial greetings,

Most sincerely, E. Jean Nelson Penfeld

P.S. Enclose a circular of work that has been opened for me this year, of which you may not know, and which has given me great joy & splendid opportunity.
