it marks an epoch in Religious Progress as well as in the effort of Women thoughout the world for peace & good fellowship. By the written statement of this learned & devout modern lady it is evident that what Pere Hyacinthe says & has published, as well as others who have made comparative religions the study of a lifetime is true: that Islam is a branch of Chirstianity as Muslums believe in the miraculous birth of Jesus & that the Christ will come again as the Messiah. Our glorious [?] friends of Boston: Longfellow, Emerson & Hale & many others believe no more & some not as much.

I may tell you that Her Highness is the cousin of the Khedive of Egypte of whose court she is the first lady of the late viceroy Ismail Pacha & granddaughter of the great warrior Muhammad Ali, But being a woman, she is a staunch & zealous advocate of Peace. Her father, Prince Mustafa Fazil, was Minister of Foreign Affairs to the Sultan, and her former husband was the Embassator of Turkey to France, where she acquired her extensive knowledge of Christianity & Western Civilization. She last witner, opened her palace in Cairo to the diplomatic corps & their wives & received both ladies & gentlemen with her face unveiled - which was a startling departure from the universal oriental fashion.

but, as she is the first of all oriental principles, this departure in the great ? in kingdom was accepted.

And now I come to announce another setp in progress & for Peace and, I do not hesitate to say, the greatest of the 20th century: this conference of Jerusalum of which the Princess Nazli has written you There will be a meeting there in April next of Jews, Christians & Moslums, all of whom believe in the same God, to confer upon the old & [our?] platform for Peace among men. & which underlies all civilization past, present & future: the decalogue. Will you, and the women of America help us to build The Tent? The tent of the New Covenant of Peace, and come with us on this glorious pilgrimmage

for it is written that 'all nations' must come up to Jerusalum to adore the one Time & Loving God; and that thereafter Peace shall reign in the Earth!

And O! have we not enough of this butchery of men! This spilling of the blood of our sons, brothers, husbands & fathers!

May God help you
