My dear Mrs. Sewall,

I was glad when the
[Broadhinsh?] informed me, that only
three days ago, that we were to
be at Indianapolis on the 18th.

Madam is not very well - I
took her up to Montreal for a
respite from her [novel?] and other
worries, but she took a severe cold
in transit and never left her bed
there. We have been home but a
few days and she has mended
some but hardly in condition
for [return?] work.

You don't know what pleasure I
feel - nay comfort at the thought
