CORTELYOU, GEORGE B President Aug 19 -1901 EXECUTIVE MANSION. WASHINGTON. Canton, Ohio August 19, 1901. Dear Madam: I beg leave to acknowledge the receipt of your favor of the 13th instant, and to state that it was promptly brought to the attention of the President, by whose direction it has been sent to the Secretary of State for his information. The President's engagements for the balance of the summer are such that it would be very difficult for him to set a definite time for those desiring to call upon him here. He therefore prefers that you submit in writing whatever further you may wish to present to him, or better perhaps, that you communicate with the Secretary of State. Assuring you that the President has been much interested in your statement of the work of your organization, believe me, Very truly yours, Geo B Cortelyou Secretary to the President. Mrs. May Wright Sewall, President, International Council of Women, 633 North Pennsylvania Street, Indianapolis, Ind.
