Indianapolis, Ind. January 20, 1897.

Dear Madam:-

I am in receipt of your letter of 19th inst., enclosing
copies of three bills submitted to a committee of the General Assembly.
My present duties are so pressing that I have not yet had time to con-
sider these, except hurriedly, but I have caused them to be filed con-
veniently at hand and expect to take them up for further consideration
at the first favorable opportunity. I note also what you have to say
with reference to the various organizations promoted by the progressive
women of Indiana, and I am quite sure you are well aware that I have
always taken a keen interest in all matters of this kind. It is hardly
necessary, therefore, for me to re-assure you that your communication
will have my personal attention.

With great respect, believe me,

Yours truly,

J. Mount

Governor.
