I desire to thank you for the interest expressed in your note received yesterday. While I individually feel that I have accomplished but little, still it has [b?] [f?] an earnest endever upon my post, to express something in my own peculiar way.

As yet however I have scarcely began to paint, and it will take many years of devotion to mature to say what I wish to express through the medium of paint & canvass. I don't see why we should not have a distinct expression of

2 Landscape art here as well as any where.

I believe the [nessesary?] material can be found any where providing the artists as sensitive to the beauty that lies all around them.

I believe the true [s?] of education in art is the [unfold?] of the possibilities that are within. 3 as president of The Art Association find it within your heart to extend the simpathy & encouragement - which your note implies. This is what we all need.

If those who are interested in Art or claim to be would cultivate a braud & generous way of viewing it & give those who are struggling to express or produce pictures. If they would simply let us feal that they were interested enough to visit a studio now and then & see what is being done it would indeed be a stimmulous to greater undertaking, to greater realization

In saying this, I but voice my individual fealing because I feal that I am but a small atom in a great [beisng?] world of human beings, who are working out problems of human destany. The one who performs his or her part to the best of her or his ability is in any [etunative?] fulfilling these missions. I making the world better for their having been in it.
