P.S. Since writing the above letter, I have received a note from the Foreign Office of which I enclose a copy for your information. I therefore venture to suggest to you that Sir Henry Trueman Wood, the Secreatry and Executive Officer of the Royal Courisson, has arrived at Chicago, and is, as I understand, to remain there in the discharge of this important duties.

Sir,

I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of you letter of the 23rd instant, asking her Majesty's Government to appoint two ladies of influence and distinction as official delegates to the Congress of Representative Women in connection with the Chicago Exhibition.

In reply I get to inform you that I have referred Miss Sewall's letter on this subject ot the Royal Commission for the Exhibition, with whom appointments of this nature rest, and that I shall have pleasure in making know to you their reply.
