Mrs. May Wright-Sewall, Indianapolis, Ind.,

My Dear Mrs. Sewall:-

I have your very kind favor of the 8th. I am placed in a very embarrassing position. I cannot with any politeness say that I regret that I have placed all my time in Indianapolis in the hands of mt friend W.C. Bobbs of the Bowen-Merrill Company, for I did it with malice [present?]. I do not know that he has any arrangements for the afternoon and evening you speak of, and I shall be in Indianapolis for a day or two and shall be very happy if he can spare me for any time that you suggest. But, I have asked Mr. Bobbs to perform a very important favor for me and feel that I am obligated to do pretty much
