WM. DUDLEY FOULKE. FOULKE, WILLIAM DUDLEY Dec 3
On train to Chicago Dec 3
My dear Mrs. Sewall
I congratulate you on securing Mr. [Bonaparte?] for the Contemporary. He is [one?] of the most attractive speakers I know - especially when he is in a saterical [vein?] -
I much regretted not seeing you when I was last in Indianapolis I had planned to call upon you the last day I was there, after an engagement which I had made with Mrs. [Opmatire?], but unfortunately Mrs [M?] had forgotten to tell me that she had moved and I spent over two hours trying to find her, and after I finally

succeeded, I had barely time to make connections for home. I am sorry Mrs. Foulke will be unable to accept your kind invitation for Wednesday nor will it be possible for me to be in Indianapolis [until?] Friday - (I am now going to St Paul on business for a day or two) but when I come I will certainly not go away again without calling upon you as I already feel? [serious?] [refusales?] of conscience in that [regard?] even before your letter came.
Mrs Foulke continues in much the same [condition?]
