Dear Mrs. Sewall,

Your letter finds me between two country visits. I leave tomorrow to see friends in New Hampshire, to be gone till the end of the month, so I can't have the pleasure of seeing you or hearing of your experiences.

After all, would it do much good? We move on

such different lives personally, that neither can use much the way of seeing of the other.

I hope that the California experiences were good ones at any rate. Possibly you might write very briefly the kind of new ones which you had. That would interest me very much. My address will be Silver Lake, N.H. Believe me with regrets, yours alays sincerely, Wm James
