STEAD, Wm T Oct 12, 1901

12th October, 1901.

Mrs. May Wright Sewell, 633, North Pennsylvania St., Indianapolis, INDIANA, U.S.A.

Dear Mrs. Sewell,

I wonder how you are getting on. Alfred and his bride arrived here safely nearly a fortnight ago. They seem to have had an extremely good time, but Elaine seems to be suffering from colds and indisposition, which are nothing serious, but occasionally confine her to the house. They are coming to live with us for the next two months at Wimbledon, until they get themselves fixed up in their Japanese house.

My son Harry may be going to America next week. I doubt whether he will be able to get round as far as Indiana, but if he does, he will certainly look you up.

Meanwhile, let me commend to your attention some things I am sending you by this mail.

First, some copies of my little pamphlet on the Hague Convention;

Secondly, Methods of Barbarism;

Thirdly; Character-sketch of Roosevelt in the REVIEW OF REVIEWS. and

Fourthly, (and most important of all) Prospectus of my forthcoming Annual, which describes the Americanisation of the world.

In this I shall have to mention you among other agencies which are operating in this direction. Any hints you may have or suggestions to make as to what I should not forget, I should be very glad to have from you.

Yours sincerely, W.T. Stead
