1897 February 10 Monthly Meeting
February 10, 1897.

The Monthly Meeting of the Board of Trustees was held,
as notified, on Wednesday, February 10, 1897, at 2:30 o'clock, P.M.

Present, The President and Messrs. Browne, Cheever, Foster,
Johnson, Sawyer, Shaw and Whitney.

Records
The records of the last meeting were read and approved.

Trustees elected Feb. 1, 1897.
The President announced that, at the Annual Meeting
of the Proprietors held February 1, 1897, Messrs. David R.
Whitney and David W. Cheever were chosen Trusteres, to
serve for six years, ending 1903.

Election of President.
A ballot having been taken for the election of a President,
it appeared that the whole number of ballots cast was
6, all of which were for Israel M. Spelman, and he was
declared elected.

Treasurer Secretary and Superintendent
Whole number of ballots cast for a Treasurer, 7, all
of which were for H. B. Mackintosh; for a Secretary, 7, all
of which were for L. G. Farmer; and for a Superintendent,
8, all of which were for James C. Scorgie; and they were
severally declared elected.

Salaries fixed.
Voted, That the salary of the Treasurer be fixed at ^$2,500.
for the ensuing year; that of the Assistant at ^$1,500; that
of the Secretary at ^$800., and that he be allowed the use
of the office without payment of rent therefor; and that
of the Superintendent at ^$2,500., and that the last-named
shall have the use of a House and the grounds thereto
belonging, the use of a Horse and Vehicle and the services
of one Man, at the expense of the Corporation.
