Lot #4072 Request of Eliza J. Chamberlin to erect Monument.
An application 378 was received from Mrs. Eliza J. Cham-
berlin, widow of Lowell W. Chamberlin, late proprietor of
Lot No. 4072 for permission to remove two Headstones
therefrom and to erect a granite Monument thereon.

As it appeared that the sum of $500 had been paid
to the Corporation as a donation in trust for the care of
the Lot and that by the will of the late proprietor
the same had been devised to the Corporation in trust
to be kept as a burial place for himself and the said
Eliza J. Chamberlin and no others, it was

Voted that leave be granted as prayed for, sub-
ject to the approval of the President, and upon the
conditions that the Headstones now on the Lot be not
removed, or buried in the ground, and that the graves
in the Lot be not disturbed.

Crematory at Cemetery
The President made a statement to the Board in
regard to the establishment of a Crematory at the
Cemetery to the effect that the surveys he had had
made showed that there was ample room for a
Crematory on the North side of the old Chapel, and that
he had every reason for believing that such location would
be approved by the Board of Health. He stated fur-
ther that the Superintendent had visited the crematories
at Brooklyn, Philadelphia and Troy and called upon
him to give the results of his examination into the
