first, that it was a serious question whether the
corporation wished to bind itself to keep separate
ledger accounts with Lot owners, perpetually:
Second that for two generations there has been
inserted in the contracts for the care of Lots a
provision that any surplus of income shall
be expended for the general purpose of the
Cemetery: and third that as a charge of Fifteen
dollars is made for the care of a Headstone
upon the assumption that it will last for
about eighty years, the result of the adoption
of the plan proposed by Mr. Fay would be
that ^many Lot owners would ^decide to take the chances & not not care to pay this
amount, and that the revenues of the corpora-
tion would be proporationally diminished.

The subject having been fully discussed later in
the meeting, it was voted that the President
communicate with Mr. Fay and inform him
courteously that the Board had given the matter
of his request this careful consideration
and had concluded that it was inexpedient to
grant the same.
