opportunity, while doing so, to express their sympathy with him
in the severe and protraited illness which has rendered it
impossible for him to take part in the deliberations of the
Trustees, and to record their deep sense of the warm and
active interest which he has always taken in Queen's College,
and of the value of the services which from the weight of his
public and private character he has been able to render."
Judge Logic of Hamilton was appointed Trustee in his room.

The following minute was on the same day passed
with reference to the death of F.A. Harper Esq., for a number
of years Treasurer of the College; "The Board having been
informed of the death of F.A. Harper Esq. a Trustee of Queen's
College from its commencement, agreed to put on record
their grateful sense of his faithful services during the many
years in which he has acted as Treasurer, and of the interest
which he has at all times taken in the College and his zeal-
ous and active efforts to promote its prosperity and success."
Alexr Morris Esq. was elected Trustee in his stead.

The Trustees were very desirous, that the Revd Dr.
Cook should accept permanently the Office of Principal of
the University, but on 22nd June he finally de-
clined to leave his pastoral Charge at Quebec, stating
