Important changes were made in the College Staff. Dr.
Lawson having resigned, and accepted a Chair in the College at
Halifax, Mr. Robert Bell C.E., of the Geological Survey, was
appointed ------------ Professor of Chemistry and Natural History
in his room. The Revd George Weir, Professor of Classical Literature,
having been removed from office by the Trustees during the Session,
the Revd Donald Ross, M.A., B.D., a Graduate of the University, con-
ducted the classes in Greek and Latin thereafter ---- during the
Vacancy. Professor Weir soon afterwards received the appointment
of Professor of Classical Literature in Morin College, Quebec. In the
Medical Faculty, Dr. Dickson having resigned the Chair of
the Principles and Practice of Surgery at the end of the Session
