Queen's College sould receive in perpetuity [Pound symbol?]500 a year, and
that therefore it is the duty of the Chairman and Secretary-
Treasurer to pay "[ound symbol?]500 a year to the Treasurer for their time
being of Queen's College, to be employed as heretofore in the
payment of Professors being Ministers of the Church."
"The Chairman was requested to forward to the
Secretary Treasurer of the Temporalities Board, J.W. Cook Esq, an
extract of the above statement with a letter soliciting the
Managers of the Board to take a favorable view of the
case--"
"On 3rd June 1864, Professor Williamson having re-
signed his office of Trustee, the following Resolutions were enter-
ed upon the Minutes of the Board;- "Moved by Judge Logie, second-
ed by the Revd Dr. Mathieson, that the resignation of the Revd Dr.
Williamson be accepted and that the Board, in accepting his
resignation, take this opportunity of expressing their high sense
of the zeal which he has always evinced in connection with this
University, both as a Professor and as a Trustee, and of the exertions
he has always made for the promotion of the Welfare of this In-
stitution, and they desire further to express their hope that Dr.
Williamson may long be spared to fulfil the duties of
the Professorial Chair, which he now holds, with the same
