Of the Students in Arts and in Theology 15 were
studying for the Ministry, and number of Intrants was 19,
the largest number since the Session 1858-59.

For the first time since its financial reverses in 1868
a surplus of revenue over Expenditure appeared this year
in the College Reports, but the excess of $724.97, it is to be
observed, was due to special contributions to revenue, including
one of £200 Sterling ($981.08) from the Colonial Committee of
the Church of Scotland, and the sums taken from Capital to
meet the deficiencies of the last three years, amounting to $7807.90,
had yet to be replaced. Theere was now, however, every
reason to look forward with confidence to the whole loss which
had been sustained being made up by the contributions
to the Endowment Fund still to be received. The receipts
