bered 45 was altered by deleting the words, "but shall not have
power to alter or interfere with any investment without the express
sanction of the Board," occurring in lines 28, 29, and 30, and
inserting the words, "and shall have power from time to time
to make and alter investments, but the Committee shall take
the first opportunity of reporting to a meeting of the Board all
acts done by them in the exercise of this power." Power was further
given to them to dispose of all or any Bank Stocks held
on behalf of the College upon such terms, and at such time or
times, as they may deem expedient, and the Chairman and Secretary
were authorized to duly execute all instruments which
they may think necessary to dispose of any such Stock.

The University this year was indebted to no less than four
valuable bequests and gifts for the means of founding a number
of additional Scholarships, to be thenceforth known under the
name respectively of Buchan, Dominion, Macintyre, and Dow.

A bequest of $3000, received from the Executors of the
Revd. Alexander Buchan, late minister of Stirling, provided for
the foundation of the Buchan Scholarships, to be applied in
terms of the will of the Testator in assisting young men studying
at the University for the ministry of the Presbyterian
Church, in acquiring their Education there. The Board
