Professor Marshall reached Kingston in time for
the autumn Convocation , Nov 10th when he
delivered his inaugural address.

These apppointments and the
increased advantages offered to the students through
the enlargement of the College staff gave universal
satisfaction and showed in a practical way the
benefits which might fairly be expexted for the University
from the proposed increase of revenue.

The Principal as Chairman of
the Committee appointed to take steps for increasing
the revenue of the College reported at the autumn
meeting of the Board that yearly subscriptions for
five years accounting to over $7800 and donations of
$2330 had been promised.

The loss of the liberal
annual grant, which had been given by the Colonial
Committee for the maintenance of the Theological
Faculty and which was withdrawn at the end of
the session, rendered more imperative the necessity of
putting the Endownment Fund of the College on a
better basis.

The Board of Trustees at the
annual meeting in April acknowledged their
indebtedness to the Church of Scotland
