for the present at least, of an amount equal to fifty
per centum of the amounts previously paid to the
non-privileged Ministers and the retired Ministers
named in the lists of beneficiaries made by the late
Synod of The Presbyterian Church of Canada in
connection with the Church of Scotland on the 14th
of June, 1875, and also in like proportion to the
Trustees of Queen's College; with the proviso that
should the Fund in future be in a position to
warrant an increased scale of payments, the parties
now necessarily subjected to a diminution of income
will share the available revenues of the Board.
Deeply regretting the disappointment and inconvenience
which this announcement may cause to
some of the beneficiaries, I yet hope that the arrangement,
pro tempore, above indicated will meet
with the approval of all parties concerned, as the
best and most equitable which, in the circumstances
the Board can suggest.
