received from the Board. I further request for the
payment of the amount due was refused, and the
Board of Trustees of Queen's decided to procure a
legal opinion as to their rights in the matter.

The opinion given was that the legal rights of
Queen's and of the Professors was to have these payments
in full, and at the Annual meeting of the
Board of Trustees in April, it was resolved that the
Temporalities Board should be notified to this effect,
and should be requested to settle all arrears without
delay. A Committee was also appointed to
confer with the Temporalities Board, or any Committee
appointed by them, on the general subject of
the Claims of the College against the Temporalities
Board.

The matter of the subscriptions from
Montreal and Toronto promised last year for the
increase of Professors' salaries was again brought up,
when the Committee stated that the balance of
what was promised last year would be paid this year
in addition to the $1500 for the current year.

An invitation was received from the
University of Edinburgh, to appoint a delegate
to represent Queens University at the Tercentenary
Celebration held in Edinburgh in April.
