The number of students attending classes during this
session was:

Arts 243
Medicine 135
Thelogy 34
[total] 412

Many of the medical students were
attending one or more Art classes but there were 132 regular
undergraduates in Arts. An increase in the number
of students in every Faculty since 1869 was registered
each year over the proceeding year.

The question of Government Aid
to Colleges which had been bought up during the
proceeding session was much discussed during the
summer, and was the chief subject of interest at Queen's during
the ensuing winter. The Minister of Education
held several Conferences with the Chancellor and
Vice-Chancellors of Queen's , Victoria, Toronto and
Trinity and with representation of other teaching bodies.
The resuly was a scheme of Conferation which was
sent out by the Minister, as follows:

It is proposed to form a Confederation of Colleges,
carrying on in Toronto. work embraced in the Arts
Curriculum of the Provinvial University
