Moved by Dr Bethune, seconded by Rev.
Mr. Campbell - That the following be a Deputation
to wait upon the Government to confer with it regarding
the matters embraced in the memorandum, the
Chancellor, Chairman of Trustees, The Vice Chancellor,
Rev Dr Wardrope of Guelph, Rev RJ Laidlaw of
Hamilton, Rev DJ Macdonnell, Toronto. Messrs
James Maclennan Q.C., W.C. Caldwell M.P.P., A Gunn, M.P.,
D.B. Maclennan, and Dr Boulter of Stirling
with power to add to their number. Carried.

Moved by Rev R.J. Laidlaw. That
the local Committee be instructed to submit at the
proper time to the Graduates and benefactors of the
University the foregoing resolutions, and in accordance
therewith to intimate a suitable time at the next
Convocation for ascertaining their views on the whole
subject. Carried.

At a meeting on the following
day, it was, after discussion as to the powers of the
Board of Trustees, moved by the Rev. D.J. Macdonnell,
seconded by Rev. Robt Campbell, That the
