But little further was done in the matter of the
Temporalities Board, through the subject was again brought
up, and a letter was read from Mr. J.L Morris of
Montreal to Mr. G.M. Macdonnell. The Committee
on this subject was authorized to consider the whole
relation of the University to the Temporalities Board
and report on the same.

The subject of a Proposed
School of Science was this year brought before the Board,
but did not take definite shape. The Board however,
expressed its willingness to give a site for the proposed
School and appointed the Chancellor, the Principal,
Mr. Geo Macdonnell and Mr. Jas Maclennan a committee
to consider the matter and to report at a special meeting
if necessary.

It was resolved to increase the salary of
the Professor of Chemistry to two thousand dollars a year.

The Rev. Jas Carmichael of Strange was appointed
Lecturer on Church History for the ensuring session.

The appointment of Tutors for the summer session and
also of tutors in Modern Languages was left in the
hands of the Local Trustees.
