conduct of one citizen who had agreed to build a Hall
of Science, urgently required, irrespective altogether of the
School of Applied Science which it is hoped will be established
and endowed by the Government. The Trustees are
confident that the example so generously set by Kingston
would ensure the raising of the full amount required.
(For Circular see Trustee Minutes Book, pp. 97-99).

At a representative meeting held in Convocation
Hall, April 27th the scheme to raise a quarter of a
million for the Endowment of the University, was endorsed
and $10,000 added to meet probable shrinkage on subscriptions.
Much enthusiasm was manifested and
the feeling was general that support should be given to
the Principal in every possible way in raising the necessary
amount. (See Q.C.J. Vol XIV pp 171-172). The scheme was
thus fairly launched, and with the close of the session
the work of collecting, began in serious earnest.

At the annual meeting of the Trustees, the by-laws
for the affiliation of Trinity Medical College with Queen's
University were finally adopted, and the Committee of
last year was re-appointed for discussing if necessary all
modifications in these by-laws with power to put the
same into effect. (For By=Laws see Senate Book p. 101)

The Portrait of Dr. Williamson was this
year presented to the College on behalf of
the ex-students of Queen's by Judge Macdonald
