Sir - I beg to acknowledge the receipt of seventy four
volumes from the Library of the University at Kingston
and am instructed by the Senate of the University of
Toronto to tender you the thanks of that body for this
generous donation to the new Library. Personally
le me thank you for the works are very valuable
and many old time friends among them.

The closing ceremonies of the session took place on
the 30th April when Mr. George M. Dawson of Ottawa
and Mr Stephen Pohe, M.A., Superintendent of Education
in British Columbia received the degree of LL.D. Three
Brasses were at this time unveiled. The first to the
memory of the 6000 who contributed over $100,000 to Queen's
during 1869-70, on the withdrawal of the annual grant
by the Legislature, was unveiled by Rev. Dr Campbell of
Montreal. The second tablet commemorating those
who contributed in 1878-9 was uncovered by DB Maclennan,
Q.C., Cornwall, while the third, in commemoration
of the students who contributed to the Jubilee fund
was unveiled by Dr. Kingsford of Ottawa.
