that day, at which many friends from a distance
were present, and the Faculty was declared to be the
Medical Faculty of Queen's University. The Faculty had
scarcely been formed when it experienced a severe loss in
the death of Dr Wm Henderson, Professor of Clincial
Medicine. His place for the session was filled
by Dr TM Fenwick, a permanent appointment
being left for a later occasion.

The Principal was able to
announce on University Day, Octoer 17th, that a
further donation of $446 had been received, to be
added to Senator Gowan's late gift of $500 towards
a lectureship in Political Science, to bear the name of
Sir John A Macdonald. Two legacies were also
announced, one of $3000 from the late Mr. AT
Fulton of Toronto, and one of $40,000 from the late
Mr John Roberts of Ottawa.

At this convocation a bust of the
Principal, the work of Mr Hamilton Macarthy of
Toronto, was presented to the College, by Mr. Justice
Maclennan, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

A question of some importance was brought
up during this session, and finally settled at the annual
meeting of the Trustees in April. The matter referred
to concerned the annuities of Professors
Mowat, Ferguson and Ross from the tempor-
