valuable was the splendid collection sent in by Mr.
B.T.A. Bell of the Canadian Review of Ottawa.
This was distinctly a mining collection and represented
nearly every branch of the science including ores,
fuels and furnace products of all descriptions.
(See Report and Calender of the School for the year.)

Apart from their intrinsic value these donations were
much appreciated as evincing the interest aroused in
many directions in these new departures of the University.

The Alumni Theological Conference was
held again this year. So great was the appreciation
of those attending these gatherings, that it had by this
time become understood that they should be held every
year. The programme for each succeding year
was made out a year in advance, so as to afford those
taking part an opportunity to become thoroughly acquainted
with the subject on which they proposed to
speak. Mr. Sandford Fleming, C.M.G., L.L.D.
was re-elected Chancellor of the University, and at
Convocation was for the sixth time installed.

The Principal remarked that it was certain that
so long as Mr. Sandford Fleming no one else but
he would occupy the Chancellor's chair.

At the Annual Meeting of the Board
of Trustees it was recommended by the Estate
and Finance Committee that a Dean of the
