Ever will his memory be cherished by the members of the
Board, and of the University, and his name will hold an
honoured place among the friends, benefactors and makers
of Queen's. In transmitting this resolution to the son,
brother, and sister of the late professor, the Board express
their sympathy with them in the bereavement through
which thay have passed. (See also Q.C.J. Vol XXIII. pp 456.)

Early in September Professor Fletcher received and
accepted the offer of the Chair of Latin in Toronto University.
His place at Queen's was filled for the
session by Professor Dale, Mr. Fletcher's predecessor at
Toronto University. Mr. Fletcher's removal was much
regretted both by his colleagues on the Staff and by the
students, and the feelings of all were expressed in the
following resolution passed by the local Trustees at their
autumn meeting, and approved at the annual meeting in April.

"That Professor Fletcher having terminated
his connection with Queen's University, the local Trustees
feel that they cannot allow him to leave, without placing
on record an expression of the high value of the
services which he has rendered to the University, during
his professorship. Professor Fletcher has won not only the
admiration but the affection of the students. He has
not only been an eminent teacher of classics, He has
inspired his students with a high ideal of
duty and he has set them a worthy example
