On Monday
morning 7 o'clock
we arrived at
Bulawayo
and were out
and ready for
sightseeing
since our train stopped until noon. The station
was some distance away and we took rickshas
drawn by native boys - our first experience.
We visited the Museum where there was a good
collection of stuffed native animals, went
to a shop where the other three members of the
party bought hats for the Falls and finally
we found our way to the hotel. We had intended
to stay here three days upon our return, but when
we found it would take $30 to [compass?] the excur
sion to Malapo Hills where Cecil Rhodes is
buried, and not fancying the dust and heat
we concluded not to stop We contented
ourselves by buying a photo of the grave
and if it looks as much better than
the reality as the view of Bulawayo
it is well we saved our money
