Agra Cecil Hotel
My prophecy concerning the departure from Jaypur was incorrect as we found a tip box for the servants and no separate fees were given. We enjoyed our last ride through the pink city and especially the sight of a big ape stealing across one of the chief streets. Our trip was without event worth mention and we arrived at this hotel at about 10 o'clock. For the first time in India, a European man met us, escorted us to our room, and suggested that we each have a cup of hot soup. That seemed more like folks than anything we have experienced. It tasted good too and we hastened to bed. This morning we arose lazily and were ready for breakfast at 9. A rosy faced woman (who owns the hotel) was bugging about the dining room.
