This morning we went by carriage some 5 miles away to see Akbar's tomb. These celebrated tombs are great buildings set in the center of a big square garden with a gate in each of the four sides. This was really a wonder. We climbed to the top where we got a splendid view. We got an early lunch and by 2 pm were in our train bound for Gwalior. We arrived at 5 pm and in a few minutes were in a carriage driving about to see this town. We visited the Maharaja's Palace and were able to see the State apartments.
