1905 - 06
In the interval, the turn of events was awaited with much
interest.

Interviews and negotiations with the Government continued
in an open and friendly way on both sides; and.
anticipating Legislative action, it is a pleasure to record
that the request of the University was in good measure,
favorably received, and a grant of $50,000 voted for a
Biological Building, - a sign that the Legislature
recognized the educational and scientific value of the work
done in the Medical Faculty, and an earnest of more
help to come.

The Finance and Estates Committee, after Conference with
the Faculty, submitted the following resolutions to the
Board for its acceptance: -

(1). That as the Ontario Government has passed a vote of
$50,000 for the Medical Faculty, for the promotion of
Medical Education, it is proposed to expend this sum on
a building suitable for laboratories, and on their equipment.

(2). That the Building Committee consist of the members of
the Faculty selected by the Faculty, and two members
of the Board of Trustees.

(3). That the Trustees shall provide a site for the building.

(4). That the provision of this site shall be regarded as an
engagement that the building to be erected thereon
shall be held in perpetuity for Medical Education.
