before now,whether the Senate confirmed them or not.

political welfare of the Negro Democrats; and its
apparent readiness to disregard his sacrifices, past
support, and future value, and its willingness to
combine with his enemies, the REPUBLICANS, and some
Southern Senators, to embarris, and disappoint him,
in his political ambitions, upon untrue statements,
and prejudice.
