it possible for the colored people of New
Jersey to celibrate their fiftieth year of
freedom. Without your signature upon the
bill, this would have been impossible
at this time. The celebration has been kept
in a non-partisan condition and spirit all
the way through. We would have been pleas-
ed to have had you present, to see the pro-
gress that the colored peopee have made
in the last fifty years in this State.
