Jersey City, N.J., January 23rd. 1914.

Hon. Jos. P. Tumulty,
Sect'y. President Wilson,
Washington, D. C.

My dear Mr. Tumulty:-

You will please do me the personal favor of calling
the attention of President Wilson to the enclosed documents from the Com-
mittee of One Hundred of Hudson County, New Jersey, and the National As-
sociation for the Advancement of Colored People of New York.

I send you personally this commnication as a Col-
ored Democrat who took the stump for Governor Wilson, along with other
Colored Men and worked for him, and the Democratic Ticket in this and
other States.

We do not feel that we are getting a square deal at
the hand of the Present Administration.

We cannot believe that President Wilson would stand
for many things that are being done, if he only knew, as he assured the
Colored Delegation that called on him at Trenton, that if elected, he
would be impartial and President of the whole people.

We have a perfect right to appeal to our Democratic
friends for Justice as American Citizens and hope the Administration will
not go down in history as opposed to the manhood and civil rights of the
Colored Citizens of this Country.

With Kind regards, I remain,

Yours Cordially,
A. P. Miller

City Hall, Jersey City., N.J.

P.S. The circular enclosed from Com of One
Hundred is a copy of a letter addressed to
our Congressman and Senators! And is sent
for your perusal only. Miller
