20,000 Negro voters in New Jersey look to you to vigilantly watch
over all those rights and privileges which come to us through the
great Civil War of the rebellion and the immortal Abraham Lincoln
which are now in danger of being wrested from us, in part by our
former enslavers, who are planming to Jim Crow not only the District
of Columbia, but the whole nation, by enacting discrimatory laws,
by which all Public Carriers, from all parts of the Country must
insult and stigmatize the Colored man, by compelling him, his wife
and children, to take a Jim Crow Car, as is and must be done by
all Negroes traveling in the South.

Please march up, and examine to following bills, and
see if you can endorse them!!!

the carriage of passengers in the District of Columbia; #5968
by Mr. Aswell of Louisiana to affect certain reforms in the Civil
Service by segregating clerks and employees of the white race
from those of African blood or deccent; #5866, by Mr. Thompson
of Oklahoma to provide for the seperation of the races on street
cars, urban, suburban and interburban cars, and in the various
departments of the Goverment in the district of Colmbia.

Yours respectfully,

The Committee of Segregation.
A. P. MILLER, Chairman.
