States the leaders of the Progressive
Party have gotten together for the purpose of
organizing a National Auxiliary to the Na-
tional Committee composed of negroes. Their
principal argument is based on the apparent
determination of this administration to ignore
negro democrats who seek national recognition.
This argument is having a telling effect upon
the negro democrats throughout the country.

He is an applicant for a position under
the Attorney General and his appointment would
not require the consent of the Senate.

Asks that he and other negro democrats
be given a "square deal", which he thinks has
not been done up to the present time.
