Robert Lewis Waring, of New York, encloses a
newspaper copy of a letter to the President from
Robert N. Wood, in which Wood assails the adminis-
tration for its treatment of the Negro, stating
that in New York County in 1912 there was a member-
ship of more than 5000 voters, and gives the impres-
sion that all are followers of Tammany Hall. This
Mr. Waring denies. While it is true that there are
more than 5000 negro voters in New York County, less
than 500 of them are followers of Tammany.

Mr. Waring says that the Democrats of the State
are greatly chagrined and disappointed at the treat-
ment they are receiving at the hands of Democrats,
bot local and national.
