Status: Needs Review

CURTIS, Janes L.,
New York City,
July 17, 1914.

Has been closely associated with Bishop Alexander Walters in the
Colored Democratic movement. Says his church organ, the A. M. E.
Review, gives evidence of joining the hue and cry against the Administr-
tion and he is anxious to prevent its opposition to the President.
Encloses copy of the Review containing article which indicates waning
of its confidence in Bishop Walters and which seems to prepare for
repudiation of the National Administration and the organization headed by
the Bishop in the issue to follow. Is desirous of doing something to
relieve this situation and suggests that the best solution of the problem
is to strengthen the arms of and encourage the Colored Democrats of
New York City.
