and all stump speakers, lecturers, preachers, newspaper editors and
"What-nots" who choose to point a finger at us and cry, "I told you
so. 'Nigger democrats’ ? No body wants them!"

I, personally, am in the most humiliating situation
before my people in all my life’s experience.

I fight hard in all my endertakings. I faught hard
for the Wilson and Marshall ticket. I am now being called to account
for MY utterances in 1912. 1 am still fighting, but dying by inches
as I have absolutely no foundation upon which to stand.

I will never believe that the President made a promise,
even by inference, which he will not keep.
